LACMA Member Appointed To Medical Board of California

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 18, 2015) — California Governor Jerry Brown, announced the appointment of Randy W. Hawkins, MD, of Los Angeles to the Medical Board of California.

The Medical Board of California is a state government agency which licenses and disciplines medical doctors. The board is comprised of 15 members, eight physicians and seven public members. Its mission is to protect health care consumers through the proper licensing and regulation of physicians and surgeons and to promote access to quality medical care through the Board’s licensing and regulatory functions. This prestigious position requires Senate approval.

Hawkins is a member of the California Medical Board (CMA) and the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA). He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has been in private practice as a physician and surgeon since 1986. He is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary and critical care medicine.
